Brett LaShure

Executive Director

Brett LaShure is the Executive Director of South Bay Sober Living. Brett has over 15 years of both personal and professional experience working in the addiction treatment field. Brett is devoted to helping families and individuals overcome substance abuse and related issues. He is passionate about helping individuals discover internal strength and resilience during the recovery process. Brett believes that addicts deserve a second chance at life. In his personal time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, surfing, dirt biking, and enjoying everything the South Bay has to offer.

Jimmy Gonzales

Program Director

Jimmy is the Program Director at South Bay Sober Living. Jimmy has over 3 years experience working in the field of substance abuse and mental health treatment. He has a wide range of skills that help him provide acute client care. His skill set has allowed him to work all avenues of treatment ranging from detox/residential, PHP/IOP and has previous experience as sober living Program Director. Jimmy is extremely dedicated to helping make a difference in the lives of those suffering from addiction and mental health disorders. He has completed his education for his CADAC. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and their bulldog Tofu, going to the beach, traveling, and watching his favorite sports teams.

Jason Goldstein

House Manager

Jason got sober at the age of 22 and has been in the recovery field for approximately 8 years. He enjoys helping others still struggling with addiction and has the experience and knowledge to do so. Jason is passionate about his sobriety and recovery in general. He believes accountability, responsibility, and honestly are the keys to successful, long-term recovery. For recreation, Jason enjoys playing basketball, going on hikes, and watching sports.

Shane Bruton

House Manager

Shane is the night manager at South Bay Sober Living. Shane has experienced both long-term sobriety and relapse over the past 15 years. His struggles in and out of sobriety provide him with the unique ability to relate to those in early recovery. Now in his early thirties with three years sober, Shane has dove back into South Bay recovery and is passionate about life. He is a full-time student and part-time house manager. Shane is committed to his sobriety and to improving his life. He believes in setting goals and always moving forward. Shane is passionate about sharing his experience with those in early recovery who are eager to change and grow. Aside from school and work, Shane spends his free time skating with his dog on the strand, surfing and spending time with friends and family.

Hillbilly

House Dog

Hillbilly is the South Bay Sober Living house dog. At 8 years old, Hillbilly himself has been thick and thin with his owner Shane, who brought him into the house.
